Good questions
Before you begin.
What are red flags?
Pressure to book on the spot, refusal to describe methods, no handoff lesson and promises of guaranteed results are all reasons to pause.
Do online reviews tell the whole story?
They help, but treat them as one input. Ask for references you can speak with and judge the trainer's answers yourself.
Should my dog have a trial day first?
Some trainers offer a short evaluation. It can show how your dog reacts to the setting. Ask whether one is available.
How do I compare two programs fairly?
Line up length, daily structure, dogs per trainer, handoff and follow-up, then compare totals. The cheaper program may leave out items the other includes.
